| 14th June 2008 was the date of this years Scout Raft Race at Daventry Country Park, which was a lovely day, and enjoyed by all taking part whether their team won or not. | | We had 10 groups taking part with two groups putting two teams in. | | | | The day went as follows: | | | | | | | 1st Race | Semi Final | Final | WINNERS | | Long Buckby 1 | | | | | Welford | Welford | | | | Ashby Fields | | | | | | | Flore | | | 2nd Race | | | | | Woodford Halse 1 | | | | | Flore | Flore | | | | Brixworth & Scaldwell | | | | | | | | FLORE | | 3rd Race | | | | | Long Buckby 2 | | | | | Pitsford | Woodford Halse 2 | | | | Woodford Halse 2 | | | | | | | Heyford | | | 4th Race | | | | | Heyford | | | | | Braunston | Heyford | | | | 2nd Daventry | | | | | | | | | Explorers Race Black Chimera (Heyford) As no other explorers took part a team of leaders hastily built a raft and competed against them.
Due to the excess weight on the leaders raft, the explorers took full advantage and swept to victory |  |

A KNIGHT and dragons joined hundreds of scouts parading through Daventry town centre on Saturday to mark St George's Day. The annual parade of cubs, scouts and beavers from across the Daventry area set out from the Chaucer Way car park and headed through the town's streets to arrive at the New Street Rec where the groups renewed their promises and took part in races. |
